Project Overview

FractalCut is a production-focused optimization system for panel saw and CNC workflows. It helps teams convert part lists into efficient sheet layouts with clear utilization metrics, visual validation, and export-ready outputs. The product is designed for speed on repetitive manufacturing jobs and precision on custom runs.

The Challenge

Manual nesting and quoting workflows often create costly waste, inconsistent output quality, and long turnaround times in manufacturing environments. The platform needed to process diverse part geometries, respect real shop constraints (kerf, grain, spacing), and deliver layouts that operators can trust without extra cleanup.

Our Solution

We built a Laravel 12 optimization platform with an interactive Konva.js canvas and a robust export pipeline. The system includes configurable nesting strategies, visual inspection tools, and workflow modules for project history and repeat jobs. Activity logging via Spatie and model-state machines keep job lifecycle reliable. The platform balances algorithmic optimization with operator control to improve adoption in real production settings.
