Brand identity for ARUU — a personal operating system with an AI assistant layer covering signal capture, task execution, and guided insight. The mark is a dense, mechanical circular frame housing an intricate inner glyph, reflecting the system's structured approach to managing attention and operational flow.

Design Process

Stage 1

Concept Direction: The brief was to design a mark for a personal OS — something with technical authority but personal grounding. Early exploration focused on circular systems, node graphs, and precision instrument aesthetics to represent signal, ops, and guidance.

Stage 2

Symbol Construction: Developed the gear-ring outer frame — circular with equidistant connector nodes — to suggest a closed operational system. The inner glyph was built from layered paths representing the three core layers: Signal, Ops, and ARUU.

Stage 3

Colour & Rendering: The mark was designed in white-on-dark and dark-on-light, with the primary application on near-black. High contrast and sharp path rendering make it legible at both dashboard scale and small icon size.

Stage 4

Final Mark: Delivered a custom wordmark (ARUU) alongside the circular symbol. The letterforms were drawn to match the mark's mechanical precision. The full system works as an app icon, CLI header, and dashboard identity.
